NotesPresenter is designed with privacy as a core principle. We believe your presentation content is yours alone, and we have built our app to reflect that belief.

Data Collection

We do not collect any data. NotesPresenter operates entirely on your local Mac. Here's what that means:

• No analytics or tracking of any kind
• No cloud storage or sync
• No account creation required
• No personal information collected
• No usage data transmitted
• No crash reports sent without your consent

Local Data Storage

NotesPresenter stores minimal data locally on your Mac to provide its functionality:

• Folder Bookmarks: When you grant folder access, a security-scoped bookmark is saved so you don't have to re-authorize access each time.
• App Preferences: Your settings (like reading guide preferences) are stored locally using macOS UserDefaults.

This data never leaves your Mac and is not accessible to us or any third party.

Presentation Content

Your presentation files (.pptx) are read locally by the app to extract speaker notes. This content is processed entirely on your device and is never transmitted anywhere. We have no access to your presentations.

System Permissions

NotesPresenter requests certain macOS permissions to function properly:

• Automation (Apple Events): Required to communicate with Microsoft PowerPoint for auto-tracking slides. This permission is used solely for inter-app communication on your Mac.
• Accessibility: Used as a fallback method to detect the current slide by reading window titles. This is only used locally for app functionality.
• File Access: Required to read your .pptx files from disk. Access is limited to folders you explicitly authorize.

Third-Party Services

NotesPresenter does not integrate with any third-party services, analytics platforms, or advertising networks. The app is self-contained and operates without any external dependencies beyond Microsoft PowerPoint.

App Store

NotesPresenter is distributed through the Mac App Store. Apple may collect certain data related to app downloads and purchases according to their privacy policy. Please refer to Apple's privacy policy for information about data they collect.

Children's Privacy

NotesPresenter does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13 years of age.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Since we don't collect email addresses or contact information, we cannot notify you directly of changes.
